Operating instructions for the Bosch Maxx 4 machine

Manufacturers of Bosch washing equipment provide detailed operating instructions. The manual for the machine contains all the information that a future owner of the equipment may need: safety precautions, general rules of use, recommendations, etc.

Safety precautions

To ensure safe operation of washing equipment, you must carefully read the instructions. For it, you should determine a place in the house where it can be immediately found if necessary.

When operating the machine, the following safety rules must be observed:

1. The device can only be used at home for washing textiles. The machine must be connected to cold water;
2. Keep pets and small children away from the equipment;
3. Do not touch the glass of the machine door while it is in operation. The glass can be very hot.
4. Turn the machine on and off only with dry hands;
5. Cut off the power cord and break the hatch door lock when disposing of the unit. This is necessary so that small children do not lock themselves in the washing mashine if they play with it.
6. When connecting and installing the device, follow all rules. This will avoid electric shock, water leakage, fire and other accidents.

Installation of the device

Before operating the washing equipment, it is necessary to remove the transport fasteners. They may be needed in the future when transporting the device, so they should be saved.

Four bolts are located at the rear of the machine. Unscrew them using the SW 13 key. You need to insert plugs into the bolt holes.

The installation location of the device plays a very important role. The stability of the machine will depend on it. Washing equipment should be placed on a smooth and hard surface. There should be no carpet or other soft coverings on it. It is advisable to install the device on a tiled or concrete floor.

If installation will be carried out on a plank floor or plinth, then the surface must be prepared in advance. In this case, a water-repellent wooden board with a thickness of 30 millimeters is screwed to the floor.

The inlet hose is connected only to a cold water supply.

There are several connection methods:

• To a separate pipe;
• To the kitchen sink faucet;
• To the bath faucet.

The hose has plastic nuts. Therefore, you need to screw them on by hand, without over-tightening. The inlet hose must be taut. Make sure it doesn't bend.

You can drain the water into a siphon, bathtub or sink. The first option is the safest and most aesthetically pleasing.The drain point should be located above the floor at a height of 60 centimeters. The hose must be secured with a clamp to the siphon outlet. This will prevent leaks and unpleasant odors.

After connecting the hoses and installing the device in place, you can begin to level it. This is done using locknuts located on the front legs of the machine. For leveling you will need a building level. The unit must be installed so that the angle of inclination is less than two degrees.

Washing equipment must be connected to a moisture-resistant socket with grounding, located no more than 100 cm to the left of the machine and 150 cm to the right. If there is no such outlet, you should call an electrician.

Washing modes

The required washing program is selected by turning the knob located on the control panel.

Bosch Maxx 4 washing programs

The Bosch Maxx 4 model contains the following washing modes:

1. White linen. Suitable for washing heavily soiled cotton items.
2. Intensive wash. This mode is used when you need to wash very dirty things.
3. Washing colored laundry with pre-soaking. The laundry soaking cycle occurs at a water temperature of 60⁰.
4. Colored linen. This mode is used for washing cotton and linen items. It differs from the previous program in that it does not soak things.
5. Synthetics. This program is suitable for washing mixed fabrics.
6. Wool. Program for washing woolen items.
7. Thin linen. Used when washing delicate fabrics (silk, tulle, etc.).

The program selector also allows you to select the spin, rinse and drain functions.

The control panel contains buttons with which you can select the following additional functions:

• Quick wash mode;
• Additional rinse;
• Reducing the spin speed;
• Stops the selected program without draining the drum. In other words, this button turns off the spin cycle.

How to start the wash?

When starting the washing machine, you first need to turn on the cold water supply. Then you need to connect the equipment to the electrical network. Using the selector, select the desired program.

The buttons on the control panel allow you to select an additional function if necessary. Next, you need to click the “Start” button. At this moment the washing process should start. Now you just need to wait for the process to complete.

In some cases, it is necessary to stop the running program and change the washing mode.

To do this you need to do the following:

• The program selector must be set to the “zero” position.
• Wait a couple of seconds and select a new washing mode.
• Start the wash by pressing the appropriate button. The washing program will change and the laundry process will begin again.

It is important not only to choose the right washing mode, but also to pour the detergent into the correct compartment of the powder receptacle. To avoid mistakes at this stage, you need to know how the dispenser works.

The Bosch Maxx 4 powder receptacle contains only three sections:

• Air conditioning compartment (in the middle);
• Section for main detergent (left). This compartment is also designed for bleach;
• Soaking section (right).

Equipment care

When cleaning your washing machine, the first thing you need to do is unplug it from the power supply to avoid getting an electric shock. The outside of the device should be wiped with a mild soap solution. There is no need to use solvents and all kinds of cleaning products. The washed machine should be thoroughly wiped with a dry cloth.

Cleaning the filler filter

It is recommended to wipe the drum with a dry cloth after each wash. It is also important to wipe the rubber cuff. Then an unpleasant odor and mold will not appear in the washing machine.

To remove limescale and scale from equipment, special products should be used. Such products must be used with caution, as they contain acids.

The detergent container should be cleaned and rinsed after every 3-4 washes. It is also necessary to periodically clean the fill and drain filters. But you don't have to do this too often. The drain filter is located in the lower corner of the device. And the inlet filter is located at the connection point between the inlet hose and the body of the machine.
