Washing machine available in almost every home. If it works properly, it helps the owner significantly. But we will consider our actions in special cases, for example, if the water is turned off during washing. This happens sometimes, and the algorithm of basic actions will not hurt anyone.
We interrupt the wash - why?
Not everyone agrees with this decision; many prefer to leave the laundry in the drum and wait for water to be supplied to the pipes again, and the automatic device itself will continue its washing process.
In this case, nothing terrible happens with the household appliances themselves, but there is still one circumstance. Everyone knows the quality of our water that enters the apartment after completion of repair work on pipeline lines. The water comes out rusty and cloudy, carrying a huge amount of sand and small debris. Imagine that such water got into washing mashine tankwhere your laundry is located.
What to do? Stop water supply during washing machine operation, it is recommended to interrupt the washing process, wait until the water leaves the machine, and remove the laundry from the tank. As soon as liquid appears in the system, you should periodically open the taps and monitor its cleanliness. When the water becomes suitable for washing, the equipment is restarted.
Algorithm of actions
So, while doing laundry, the cold water in your house was turned off. We already know why the process of machine operation is interrupted. It remains to understand the sequence of upcoming actions. First, call the building management and clarify the reason for the loss of water and the estimated time for repairs. This will help you plan your own actions.
Now it's time to perform the following operations:
- On the control panel we find a button that activates the washing machine to start and pause. The name options depend on the specific washing mashine model, but the key has a general meaning and is quite easy to find. All you have to do is press the button and hold it in this position for at least five seconds;
- You will understand from the electronic panel of the machine or from the glow of the corresponding indicator element that the software for the washing process has been reset. You will also hear that the washing machine has stopped;
- turn off the tap through which water enters the washing machine tank;
- it is possible to disable the spin function, but this action is optional;
- wet laundry is removed from the tank;
- washing machine is disconnected from the electrical network by removing the power plug from the socket.
All that remains is to wait for the supply of cold water, check its quality, put the laundry in the drum, turn on all the networks connected to the machine, and activate the button we are already familiar with. Washing will resume from the point at which it was interrupted.
Some tips for draining water
Let's say you decide to remove laundry from the bin, but... The machine did not drain the water on its own. Unplug the unit and use one of the following methods:
- use a hose to drain the liquid. Pull its end out of the sewer drain, extend the hose so that it is below the tank, and drain the water into a suitable container. Please note that this option is not suitable for all washing mashine models;
- use the drain filter. It protects the pump from foreign objects; it can be reached by removing the decorative hatch or panel at the bottom. Having opened access to the filter, tilt the machine on its side and place the container under water. Turn the filter in the opposite direction to the clockwise movement and drain the water. The method has a drawback - some of the water leaks onto the floor;
- Some washing mashine models have a special tube through which water is drained from the tank in an emergency. It is located near the pump filter. To drain the water, you need to remove the tube, remove the plug and divert the liquid flow into the container. The diameter of the drain tube is small, so the water will drain for a long time;
- There is a simple option - open the tank door and scoop out the water manually. To do this, tilt the machine onto the back wall, open the door and work with a small ladle;
- forced drainage of water is possible through the drain pipe located under the tank. The procedure is “wet”, you will need dry rags.
