What is the meaning of error E10?
Based on the user manual for the AEG washing machine, you can see that the code indicates a violation in the automatic water supply system: its absence or a small amount in the tank. You need to immediately understand that in reality there are several reasons for this error to appear.
Reasons for showing E10 code on the display
Error E10 in AEG washing equipment appears for the following reasons:
- insufficient water pressure in the tap or its absence (internal water supply shutdown);
- damage to the water supply hose, clogging of the water intake system;
- problem with the fill valve;
- the performance of the pressure switch is impaired;
- spontaneous leakage of water from the tank.
Some washing machine models have a wide range of error codes. They indicate the specific reason for the device malfunction. But still, most AEG machine models do not have this feature and display a single code E10. The first reason is poor water pressure or lack thereof:
- close the tap, remove the inlet hose;
- place the container under the tap;
- open the tap, check whether enough water is pouring out of it - a 10-liter bucket of water should be filled in one minute.
The next reason is a problem with the water supply hose or a clogged water intake system. This may include: clogged filter, pinching of the hose with some object, its defect, kinks, and so on. In this situation, you need to take the following steps:
- check whether there is a water filter in front of the hose. You need to remove this part and inspect it - maybe the filter is clogged, or there is a coating on it, which is actually why water does not get into the tank;
- if there is no filter, or it is present but clean, then you need to inspect the entire length of the hose.Perhaps it is pinched, twisted or bent;
- the next step is to check the reliability and tightness of the connection between the water supply pipe and the water supply pipe and the washing machine.
Do-it-yourself troubleshooting
Having examined the water supply system and found out that everything is clean and in good order, you need to check whether the water in the machine is draining on its own. You need to listen to how the water leaves the tank, how it flows in the drain pipe. When the E10 code appears, the automatic washing mashine is not running, so it won't be difficult to hear these sounds. If you hear such a sound, then check the drain hose - it should not be on the floor. According to the user manual, it must be raised above the base of the machine to a height of at least 60 cm and no more than 1 m.

You need to be prepared for the fact that without special knowledge in the field of repair, you can spend a lot of time and not get results. Next, you need to check the pressure switch (water level sensor). To diagnose it, you will need to get to it. To do this you need:
- disconnect the washing machine from the power supply;
- turn off the water tap;
- Remove the top cover of the machine body by unscrewing the bolts.
When you have managed to get to the sensor, you need to take a tube with a diameter identical to the diameter of the pressure switch fitting. It is necessary to carefully release the fastener and unhook the pressure pipe. Then attach the prepared tube to the fitting and blow lightly into it.The sensor can be considered fully operational if the contacts work - the device will produce 1-3 clicks. It is also necessary to check the sensor box for damage. Check to see if there are any blockages in the pipe. If there is a blockage, rinse under a stream of warm water.
It is also necessary to check the water level sensor using a combined electrical measuring instrument - a multimeter. The tester is set to resistance measurement mode. Then its probes come into contact with the contacts of the pressure switch. The values displayed on the instrument display must change. If they remain unchanged, it should be concluded that the sensor is faulty and requires replacement.
In what cases is it better to call a specialist?
All probable factors were checked, but the failure with code E10 could not be eliminated. What to do in such a situation? In rare cases, this error ends the washing cycle of the device, not because there is a breakdown in the water supply or discharge system. The washing machine may be in perfect working order, but the E10 code will still appear on the display. What is the reason?
There is probably a problem with the control board. It is the main unit that regulates the functions of all machine mechanisms. Failure of this unit can occur due to voltage surges due to repeated switching on and off of the washing machine during operation, as well as through manufacturing defects.
You cannot repair the electronics unit on your own. This requires special knowledge. This part of the work must be entrusted to the master.
It should be borne in mind that although modern washing machines have the function of self-diagnosis of emerging problems, often the indicated error does not specify which element of the mechanism is faulty.
